What does Drontal for dogs cover? Vetoquinol's Australian page states it is fast and effective against roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm, including hydatid tapeworm, and controls the shedding of Giardia cysts. It states it does not control heartworm, and carries no flea or tick claim.
How often? Vetoquinol's direction is every 3 months or at the beginning of every season, every 6 weeks in hydatid tapeworm areas, and every 6 to 8 weeks if whipworm is a problem; the page describes it as safe during pregnancy and lactation with specific timing.
