Vetafarm Avimec is a registered topical treatment for scaly face mite (burrowing mite) in budgerigars. Active constituent: ivermectin 1 mg/mL.

  • Applied as drops to unfeathered skin; dosed by body weight per the label (1 drop under 30 g, 2 drops 30-100 g)
  • Label directs repeating weekly for three doses and treating all birds in the aviary, as the mite spreads between birds
  • Full recovery of affected beak and cere may take up to 6 weeks
  • 50 mL bottle. Read and follow the label directions. Store below 25 degrees C
