Laucke Red Hen 17 is a 20 kg premium layer and breeder food for all classes of laying poultry, made in No Grind Crumble form.

  • Analysis as fed: protein min 17.0 percent, fat min 3.0 percent, fibre max 8.0 percent, calcium min 4.2 percent
  • Linoleic acid included at a minimum of 1.2 percent for enhanced egg size
  • No Grind Crumble reduces selective feeding while still offering hens the large grain pieces they prefer
  • This is a medication free diet
  • Contains restricted animal material: do not feed to cattle, sheep, goats, deer or other ruminants

Feed ad lib from point of lay, at approximately 18 weeks of age. Ensure clean, fresh water is available at all times.

What is in it

  • Laucke's ingredient list includes wheat, triticale, barley, oats, peas, lupins, lentils, beans, soyabean, canola and sunflower, plus meatmeal, blood meal and fat.
  • Also listed: limestone, phosphates and mineral supplements, amino acids including lysine, methionine, threonine, tryptophan, isoleucine and valine, antioxidants, egg yolk pigments and enzymes, with a vitamin range from A through B12.
  • Laucke's declared analysis lists added salt at a maximum of 0.35%, alongside the protein, fat, fibre, calcium and linoleic acid figures already noted for this product.

Why 17 percent protein? Barastoc puts a laying hen's need at 15 to 19 percent depending on production, age, intake and moulting; Red Hen 17 is Laucke's 17 percent protein, 4.2 percent calcium layer in a no-grind crumble that reduces selective feeding, which makes it the pick for the moult and for heavy layers.

How much per hen per day? Barastoc's expected adult intake for a complete layer feed is 120 to 130 g per bird per day, fed without restriction, with clean water always available. A 20 kg bag is roughly 160 hen-days.
