Keratex Hoof Putty is a semi permanent mouldable wax for filling hoof cavities, from Keratex in the United Kingdom, supplied in a tin.
- Keratex describes it as a malleable wax containing slow release organic disinfectants and antibacterials, which it does not name
- Work a piece until soft and tacky, then press it in level with the surrounding horn
- Only cold shoeing or gluing may be used over or near filled areas
- Putty under a shoe must be replaced at the next shoeing, otherwise check weekly
200 g tin. Start with a clean dry hoof and clean dry hands. Keratex publishes no ingredient list for this product, so none is stated here.
