Feeding guide
Johnson's describes Platinum Low GI as a low glycemic feed based on high fat and fibre sources, designed to deliver slow-release energy while supporting body condition and muscle development. According to the manufacturer, it is a balanced, pelleted cool feed suitable for horses and ponies in medium to hard work, as well as growing, breeding and spelling horses, and for performance horses that need sustained energy. Johnson's recommends introducing it gradually over 1 to 2 weeks, feeding alongside roughage such as pasture or hay to provide 1.5 to 2% of bodyweight in roughage daily, and dividing the daily amount into smaller meals if it exceeds 0.5 kg per 100 kg of bodyweight per day, with clean water available at all times.
What is in it
- Johnson's lists the ingredients as premium export quality oaten hay and lucerne hay, lupins, faba beans, GMO free full fat soybean and soybean oil, plus a premium vitamin and mineral premix with chelated minerals, prebiotics, probiotics and a mycotoxin binder.
