Feeding guide

Johnson's describes Fibre Safe as a high fibre, low starch and low sugar pelleted feed made from premium Australian fibres and super fibres. According to the manufacturer, it is grain and molasses free, and is formulated as a cool feed suitable for all horses and ponies. Johnson's recommends introducing it gradually over 1 to 2 weeks, feeding it alongside roughage such as pasture or hay, and dividing the daily amount into smaller feeds if it exceeds 0.5 kg per 100 kg of bodyweight per day. The manufacturer's soaking direction is to mix 1 part Fibre Safe with 3 parts water, standing for 5 minutes in warm water or 10 minutes in cold water, with clean water available at all times. Johnson's also states horses need 1.5 to 2% of bodyweight in roughage daily.
