Feeding questions
How much should a guinea pig eat? Burgess's guide: hay for 85 to 90 percent of the diet, pellets around 5 percent, a daily handful of fresh greens and fresh water. Feed the pellet serve on the bag and keep hay unlimited.
Why vitamin C? Guinea pigs cannot make their own vitamin C, so it has to come from the food every day; that is why guinea-pig pellets are fortified and rabbit-only pellets are not.
